Spicy Thai Salad Recipe with Shallots and Pork - I’ve never been to Thailand so I can’t vouch for the authenticity of this Spicy Thai Salad Recipe. What I can vouch for is the all around taste that the Thai Salad Ingredients brings to this delightful dish. Until you try this recipe you will have to make my word for it, this salad is the bomb!
I don’t know a whole lot about Thailand but I do know good food and a good Thai salad when I eat one. This my friends is a good Spicy Thai salad.
Spicy Thai Salad Ingredients
2 long, thin Thai or Japanese-style eggplants
2 hot Thai chilies, seeded if preferred, and finely sliced
2 shallots, finely sliced
2 tablespoons fish sauce
Juice of two limes
1 tablespoon superfine sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped cooked pork
1 cup peeled shrimp, defrosted if frozen
2 tablespoons fresh whole cilantro leaves
How To Make The Spicy Thai Salad Recipe
Cook the eggplants over a BBQ, under a broiler, or in a hot oven until the skin is wrinkled and blistered and the flesh is tender
Turn once or twice while cooking
Cover with a damp cloth and leave for about 10 minutes to cool
Meanwhile, mix together the chilies, shallots, fish sauce, lime juice, and sugar in a bowl
Peel the eggplants and cut them into chunks
Toss the eggplants in the sauce, then add the pork and shrimp
Serve garnished with the cilantro leaves
