1 1/2 pounds round steak, 1/2 inch thick
1 envelope brown gravy mix
1 tablespoon instant minced onion
1 tablespoon brown sugar
2 tablespoons wine vinegar
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1 bay leaf
Hot Buttered Noodles
How To Make This Round Steak Casserole
Cut meat in 1-inch squares.
Brown meat in 1 tablespoon hot shortening.
Remove meat from skillet; add gravy mix and 2 cups of water.
Bring to boiling, stirring constantly.
Stir in next 6 ingredients., 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1/4 teaspoon of pepper.
Turn into 1 1/2 inch quart casserole.
Cover; bake at 350F for 1 1/2 hours.
Remove bay leaf.
Serve on noodles.
Makes 5-6 servings.
In order to make a really good beef stroganoff round steak you should use butter noodles.
