A Delicious Cream Cheese Pate Recipe - This cream cheese pate recipe contains no chopped liver. Thank goodness for that. I hate chopped liver. My mother used to make me eat it as a kid and my hatred of it has grown through the years.
But cream cheese pate is something all together different. I love cream cheese. You should see how much I put on a toasted bagel. It is like an obsession with me. Maybe my hatred of of chopped liver drove me towards my obsession with cream cheese. Only my shrink can answer that question.
Ingredients For The Cream Cheese Pate Recipe
1 large or 2 small eggplants
1 cup sour cream
1 garlic clove, crushed
1 green chili, seeded and chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
How To Make The Cream Cheese Pate Recipe
Cook the eggplant over a BBQ, under a broiler, or in a hot oven until the skin is wrinkled and blistered and the flesh is tender
Turn once or twice during cooking
Cover with a damp cloth and leave to cool for 10 minutes, then peel off skin
Blend the eggplant with the remaining ingredients in a blender
Season well, then turn into a serving bowl
Sprinkle with paprika
Chill for 30 minutes
While cheese pate is not as popular as chopped liver pate who really cares? Not me! Cheese and pate go together for me like peanut butter and jelly. Enough said.
Oh and before I forget this can also be considered an eggplant pate with creamed cheese. Eggplant is healthy with a unique texture.
